It's
been a busy year in field recording
for the studio. The field rig currently
consists of a Blumlein set of Cascade
ribbons, several shotguns (EV, AKG,
Sennheiser), a broad assortment
of conventional microphones, Mac
laptop and interfaces as well as
a strong suite of plug-ins. Accurate
time alignment is assured and any
of the standard stereo recording
configurations are supported augmented
by shotguns or other mics as needed.

On
the design front, development has
begun on the calmediaarts audio
processor. Featuring TI dsp processors
arrayed in a neural network managed,
all-analog signal path which features
mixing and channel processing with
Neumann summing, the processor will
offer pristine sound and a level
of signal management beyond that
currently found in the industry. |

The
California Media Arts and Engineering
studio has been developed to provide
an environment conducive to creativity
for its owner, a composer and
musician himself, and his clients.
It's being built to the best standards
in order to provide a capable,
agile quality resource.
Central
is the audio recording infrastructure
consisting of an Otari Concept
1 Console, Macintosh desktop system
and requisite interfaces, external
gear and acceleration and routing
hardware.
Software
consists of Final Cut Studio,
Shake, Logic Studio, a wealth
of plug-ins for each and a variety
of additional applications.
The
studio is also equipped for hardware
design and custom embedded design
for audio and other applications.
All
of this in a breathtaking, natural
environment...
